It’s 2019, but most people still have to sacrifice a goat to the telecom-gods whenever they travel, just to be connected to their home country. And what if they also want the ability to have a separate number for personal stuff and work at the same time? This is not Sparta, THIS. IS. MADNESS! You can travel around the world in 18 hours, but juggling mobile networks takes more effort than reading two Jules Verne novels back-to-back. This needs fixing.

There’s a team out there doing the fixing, and their solution already serves several top-tier clients, such as Tesla, Harley-Davidson, and some of the world’s top banks - and even digital nomads across the globe. But they are on a journey of constant improvement, and for the next leg, they need a superstar with a full stack profile with experience in ReactNative.

You’ll be working with this 5-man team to develop the next iteration of their award-winning eSIM app, helping them remake part of their back-end and hit the ground running with full production.

The Specifics of the Job:

You’ll be expected to develop and maintain iOS and Android applications, backend microservices, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, unit and end-to-end tests.

In addition to that, it will be your responsibility to troubleshoot and debug applications, conduct functional and non-functional testing, and perform code reviews.

The development team uses agile methodologies and holds cooperation as their highest standard, so lone wolves need not apply. While this is a remote position, you must be in constant dialogue with the physical team.

You Need To Have:

  • +3 years of experience with and in-depth knowledge of React Native, JavaScript and mobile development in general
  • Experience with backend development in at least one of: Node JS, Java, Golang, Python, Ruby; webstack backend
  • The ability to work with Git/Gitflow
  • Familiarity with agile and devops
  • Exemplar teamwork and communication skills - please be expertly fluent in English, able to understand and be understood, not only technically but also in casual conversation.
  • Willingness to work with at least 5 hours overlap with Lisbon
  • Availability to travel to Lisbon for a 15-30 days period for on-boarding
  • BONUS POINTS: You are familiar with Android development
  • DOUBLE BONUS: You can present recent open-source contributions in your name

  • Actually, please make sure to regularly hidrate and catch some sunlight!
  • Work with a small, nimble team of fun people in a relaxed environment.
