Principal Frontend Engineer

As a Principal Frontend Engineer with our team at Rev, you will play a key role in shaping and leading our frontend development efforts, driving the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and best practices to enhance our digital solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Architect and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable frontend solutions using React, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement efficient and effective solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and performance optimization techniques within the frontend development team.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in frontend technologies, frameworks, and libraries, and evaluate their potential impact on our development stack.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and implement processes to ensure high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to optimize performance and user experience.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to ensure comprehensive test coverage, and assist in the resolution of any frontend related issues during the testing process.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in frontend development, conducting knowledge sharing sessions, and promoting continuous learning and improvement within the team.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, and actively contribute to the growth and development of the frontend engineering team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in frontend development with a strong focus on React.
  • Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
  • Solid understanding of frontend architecture patterns and modern frontend tooling (e.g., Webpack, Babel).
  • Strong experience with responsive and mobile-first web development, ensuring seamless experiences across multiple devices and screen sizes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of frontend engineers, fostering collaboration and driving excellence in code quality and best practices.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers to deliver visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, propose innovative solutions, and drive their implementation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive and self-driven mindset, with a passion for continuous learning and keeping up with the latest industry trends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with TypeScript or other statically typed languages.
  • Familiarity with backend technologies and API development.
