Launched in 2021, ESG Advantage is a business-to-business (b2b) software as a Service (SaaS) platform that allows companies to track their ESG performance and benchmark it against their peers and industry best practices. Specifically designed for the private equity market, it provides investors and fund managers with a holistic overview of the performance of their portfolio companies.

The role

As the Front-end Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the front-end development activities of ESG Advantage and leading the front-end refactoring of the application. You will lead a team of front-end developers, collaborating with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to create outstanding user interfaces and ensure a seamless user experience. Your role will involve overseeing the entire front-end development process, from architecture design to implementation and quality assurance, while shaping the front-end development strategy, setting coding standards, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of front-end developers, providing technical guidance, setting coding standards, and ensuring adherence to best practices for front-end development.
  • Front-end Architecture: Collaborate with architects and UX designers to create scalable and maintainable front-end architectures, ensuring efficient performance and extensibility of web applications.
  • Application refactoring: Design and implement user interfaces using state-of-the-art frameworks (React, Vue.js), ensuring the highest level of usability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product managers, designers, and back-end developers to understand project requirements, provide input on technical feasibility, and ensure seamless integration of front-end components with back-end systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews and monitor performance metrics to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free front-end solutions.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in front-end development. Continuously evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve the team's efficiency and productivity.
  • Mentoring and Coaching: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, promoting their professional growth and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Skills & Experience

  • 10 years of experience as a front-end developer, with a strong portfolio of web applications or projects.
  • Working knowledge of jQuery, Bootstrap and JavaScript
  • Expertise in modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Driven by sustainable impact.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Gulp).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into efficient and scalable front-end solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Leadership abilities, including the capacity to inspire and motivate team members in a distributed team, provide constructive feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
