Senior Frontend Engineer - React

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at OpenGov you'll build best-in-class SaaS solutions that enable efficiency, transparency, and accountability within government agencies. You'll be a key member of our engineering team, delivering new features and improvements in a fast-paced, agile environment using modern technologies, including React, TypeScript, GraphQL, zustand, and Immutable.js.

A typical day in this role would provide opportunities to optimize applications for speed and scalability and resolve a variety of unique technical challenges. Strong collaboration skills with product, UX, and back-end engineers, along with the ability to execute quickly will enable your success.

Write robust, highly tested, well-crafted code that you can be proud of

Develop new UI features and improve existing code

Write unit and integration tests to improve and maintain high code coverage

Work with local and remote engineers on a regionally distributed team

Ship and maintain your team’s applications

Your Qualifications

6+ years professional experience in front end engineering roles

5+ years  professional experience with Javascript

3+ years professional experience using Git or another popular CVS

4+ years professional experience with React and Redux, TypeScript, ECMAScript

Experience integrating the UI with data from service endpoints

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Understanding of functional programming fundamentals

Experience doing and submitting to code reviews

Experience working cross-functionally, collaborating with designers and coordinating and product/program managers

Understanding of AWS fundamentals.

Real world experience building scalable SaaS products

You’re very interested in learning new languages, platforms, and ideas.

You thrive in a fast paced environment focused on delivering production code at a regular cadence using Agile techniques, tools, and methodologies.
