We’re looking for a Frontend Software Engineer with an affinity for solving problems. Cookin is building the future of food and we want to do it with passionate creators like you. We ship on what’s best for our cooks and customers.
You’ll work closely with the CTO, CPO, and the rest of the engineering team to build out the Cookin platform. Come join an all-star team of tech talent (consisting of former Apple, Shopify, and Slack engineers), and seasoned founders with multiple exits under their belts!

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. or in NY is $100,000-150,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits package. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States or Canada who are hybrid (working partially out of our Toronto or Manhattan-based NYC office).
Some of what you'll be doing
- Helping us scale by designing, building, and supporting user experience-driven mobile and web applications built with React and React Native.
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team to plan and implement new user experiences as well as refining existing ones.
- Sharing your ideas, knowledge, and experience during discussions, code reviews, retrospectives, and other collaborative forums.
- Dealing well with ambiguity and quickly evolving priorities.
- Being self-motivated and eager to learn new things.
- Having fun with a small and super-talented team.
About You
- Have experience building, shipping, and operating web and/or mobile applications at scale. You have seen what works, and probably a few things that didn’t work.
- Passion for shipping world-class products that solve problems for our users (both cooks and consumers).
- You have excellent communication skills and are able to thrive on small, collaborative, distributed engineering teams.
- You are curious and are always willing to learn. If you don’t have experience with the technologies that we use, we’ll teach you!
Bonus Points
- Mobile Development experience with React Native or willingness to learn.
- Experience building for scale.
- Excited about uniting people through food!

- On the backend: Kotlin, Micronaut, GCP (Cloud Run), Postgres, Temporal.
- On the frontend: React Native, React, NextJS, TypeScript.
- Other tools: Notion, GitHub & GitHub Actions, Linear, Slack.
