Your team

You will join our product team as the new senior front-end software engineer:

• Ragnar is one of our co-founders and leads the Product Team. You will closely work with him and directly report to him.
• Aaron M, Gaspar, Kilani, Ibraheem, Ivana, Lala, Vladislav, Mohammad and Barry are SkillLab’s software engineers
• Hamza is our DevOps Engineer and Luiza our QA engineer
• Mohammad and Hadeel are SkillLab's product managers
• Aaron S, Rihab and Anna are our data scientists
• Dan, Giulia B and Giulia V lead our product design
• Mirette is our user researcher

What you will do

• You will write the code for new features that will make the front-end of our career guidance solution beautiful and the user experience seamless
• You will ensure that every job seeker (regardless of age, gender, culture) can get personalized career guidance through our app
• You will code using React and TypeScript
• You collaborate with the other engineers through code reviews and by integrating with our backend and DevOps infrastructure
• You learn how we leverage the power of Artificial Intelligence to allow job seekers to better understand their skills and get matched to education and jobs

Is this you?

• You are excited about our social mission to empower everyone to have a pathway to employment
• You have 7+ years of experience in front-end development, with extensive knowledge in TypeScript, React (version 18+ with hooks), PWAs, Material UI and other libraries in the React ecosystem (emotion, jest, redux, swr).
• You have a learning mindset and bring the drive and curiosity to tackle new coding challenges
• You work collaboratively in an engineering team and are empathic towards our end-users

Extra awesome

• You have experience leading a team of software engineers
• You speak and read Arabic
• You have some experience of Ruby and Rails, Storybook, animation frameworks, bundlers, service workers, Web APIs, or Google Cloud

Salary, start-date & location

• We use a salary benchmark for the Dutch high-tech sector to set your salary based on your experience. We expect that the annual gross salary for the experience we are looking for ranges from 70k-85k Euro per year.
• We strongly prefer on-site candidates who live in Amsterdam or the Netherlands. However, we are open to remote applicants who will make intermittent trips to Amsterdam from cities within the Netherlands.
• We accept applications on a rolling basis, and we envision a start date as soon as possible.

• You will enjoy 25 paid vacation days per year (20 days as the statutory minimum holiday entitlement in the Netherlands plus 5 extra days from SkillLab).
• You can work flexibly both from our office in Amsterdam or remotely within the Netherlands. You can also extend your holiday stay in a different country and work from abroad for a limited period of time.

• You will get an extensive relocation support to move to Amsterdam including visa sponsorship, 30% ruling application, your plane tickets, covered real estate agent fees, first 2-weeks of hotel accommodation etc.
