What we’re looking for:
8x8 is looking for an experienced Staff Front End Developer who will be involved in the entire life cycle of development, from the browser to the database. Main focus of this job is to develop new features and maintain existing ones for 8x8 Work, a multiplatform application.
What you’ll do at 8x8:
- Build easily maintainable, high-quality code
- Work with your manager to meet challenging goals
- Support test and deployment of new products and features
- Help with finding and resolving the root cause of reported issues
- Understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Keep up to date with the latest software engineering trends
- Review technical debt and help with planning on how to manage it
- Participate in code reviews
- Mentor other developers on your team
What you bring to the team:
- Strong proficiency in Javascript, CSS3, HTML
- Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
- Experience with Redux/Redux-toolkit
- Experience with data structure libraries (e.g. Immutable.js)
- Experience with RESTful APIs
- Experience with writing unit tests (e.g. with Jest)
- Familiarity with Node.js
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as GIT
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (e.g. Gulp, Webpack)
- Nice to have: experience with Electron, Typescript, Cypress automation
