We are looking for smart, ambitious, and hardworking developers with a passion for learning and delivering. You will join the team in Berlin that is responsible for developing compelling user experiences that are the face of KAYAK for millions of users every day. As a catalyst for complex projects and initiatives, you will work closely with other teams to develop innovative features and keep our product ahead of the competition. In this role you will:

  • Work on the product features that are used by millions of users
  • Have end-to-end ownership of UI features including testing, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Drive technical debt reduction, oversee code quality and mentor other developers
  • Refactor and optimize existing code
  • Review and scope feature requests
  • Make architectural decisions and build prototypes
  • Work with geographically distributed teams
  • Be required to come into the office 1-3 days per week

Please apply if you have:

  • 4+ years of meaningful work experience developing web applications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a quantitative/technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math)
  • Experience building layouts using CSS and HTML
  • Advanced understanding in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
  • Knowledge of performance considerations, especially with respect to browsers
  • Ability to…

    • Work independently on solutions and designs with minimal oversight
    • Produce scalable, high quality, and accurate work
    • Estimate effort accurately and executes with pace
    • Show good judgment in architecting software

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this remote United States based role is $115,000-$155,625.
 
In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: annual cash bonus, equity grant; health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits.
