React Engineer

Description

We are looking for a Mid-level React Engineer who will be working with our tech lead, backend developers, designer and product lead to define our future and build software that could make a real difference. Our mobile application for patients (Vinehealth Cancer Companion) is built in React Native and our web application for clinicians (VinehealthPRO) is build in React. As a member of a small team, you will be:

  • Creating software as a medical device
  • Designing and building new features
  • Technically mentoring other team members
  • Working with a high performing team and problem solving with them on a daily basis

We use proven technologies combined with managed hosting solutions to focus on what differentiates us and produce high quality software. We have a test-driven development process and automated build pipeline with the goal of developing reliable and trustworthy solutions. Our current stack is made up of:

  • React
  • React Native
  • Redux
  • Python (Flask, SQLAlchemy)
  • PostgreSQL
  • Pulumi (Infrastructure-as-code)
  • Docker
  • AWS - ECS (Fargate) + RDS (Aurora)
  • Git
  • CircleCI

Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to share ideas and collaborate
  • Interest in building software as a medical device
  • 2+ years of professional experience building front-end systems with react as main language
    • React.js experience & knowledge of the React/ Redux ecosystem
    • Experience with cypress testing & CircleCI
    • Emphasis on quality of code rather than rapid output
    • Interest in technical mentorship of the team around you
  • Experience with any other elements of our core stack is also desirable, however not required if you’re willing to learn on the job.
