Kunai is looking for a full-time Sr Front End Engineer to join our team. You will be joining a team that has shipped over 150 products for clients from the United Nations, Ernst & Young and TOMS Shoes to fintech titans like Capital One, American Express and Wells Fargo.
You will help our engineering team bring our products across the finish line for our clients to enjoy in the wild. You’ll work across the tech stack, tackle new skills, and show up ready for anything. Your role will be challenging, fun, and interesting.
About the role:
- Join our Incubation Team to help take an early stage venture from incubation to commercial launch
- You will be shaping the experience for consumers of a new digital product with the opportunity to stay on post-MVP
What you'll do:
- Work with a modern tech stack using React and TypeScript
- Collaborate every day working side by side with engineers, designers and product owners to produce best-in-class digital products and consumer experiences
- Focus on software quality and shipping production-level code focused on long-term maintainability
- Join the team at the ground floor playing an important role in building the future of insurtech
- Be obsessed with the customer and the relevant user journey data that informs your work and the broader business strategy
- Develop broad digital skills and experiences

What you bring to the table:
- 5+ years experience delivering high-performance, public-facing web applications with demonstrative business impact with Zero to One startup experience desirable
- 3+ years experience with the technologies we use including React and TypeScript
- Mastery of responsive, front-end UX development
- Mastery of web fundamentals including vanilla Javascript, HTML and CSS
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs (REST, GraphQL), modern web application development, and building tools, testing and CI/CD
- Experience developing complex applications in an agile environment as part of a multi-disciplinary diverse team
- Working knowledge of security best practices specifically related to PII
- Excitement, energy, strong collaborative people skills and the ability to communicate cross-functionally across all levels in formal and informal settings
- Experience in a startup or venture-like operating model strongly preferred
- Must be able to thrive in an ambiguous environment – where change is the only constant
