Senior Frontend Engineer

VEED.IO is an online video editing platform that makes creating videos easy and accessible to everyone. Millions of creators around the world use our products to tell stories, create content, grow their audience and more (hey, you might even know some of them!)

We're at a super interesting stage right now: 18 months ago we had no staff and no money, and now things are going pretty well. We're at $6M ARR, 40+ people, and we're one of the most popular video editors in the world. As our userbase grows, so does our talented team — we'd love for you to be a part of that journey.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help us build our live streaming product. At VEED, we have a simple mission: making creative storytelling with video simple and accessible for everyone. That's why we're shifting from building "just" a video editor to building a suite of tools that allow anyone to make great videos.

One of the areas we're betting big on is live streaming. Why? Every kid — and every company — wants to be a streamer these days, but creating a professional-looking stream is still incredibly difficult and time-consuming. It feels a bit like photo editing before Instagram launched — it's slow, painful, and you need a lot of knowledge to get started. On top of that, people often want to edit and publish their streams afterwards, and current streaming solutions don't offer that. A lot of people actually use VEED for this, so we know we can bring our tool to a large audience, instantly.

What we're looking for?

The most important thing is that you are passionate about what we're building! If you're excited about the opportunity, but don't fit all of the criteria here, please reach out.

• You have a proven track record. We're a young company and at this stage, we need people that have been through this before. You've worked on successful products, and made them even better.
• You're a team player. We work in multi-disciplinary teams — you'll work with a group of super-talented PMs, designers and engineers. Together you'll have to solve really complex problems, so you need to communicate well and be able to have good discussions with domain experts.
• You got the technical chops: We're looking for someone that knows their way around React, Typescript, Mobx, Webpack.
• Bonus points if you have experience with development of complex application with a lot of interactivity (e.g. Miro, browser games, StreamYard).
