Fullstack Platform Developer (React, Redux, Symfony - Remote within Canada)

C2 International is looking for an Intermediate-level Platform Developer excited to solve problems for the hybrid future. C2 International designs and produces high-profile global events for its clients. Right now, we’re developing new virtual and in-person technology. At the heart of what we’re building is a feature-rich, configurable platform that enables our clients to create both online and on-site event experiences for their audiences.  

Event participant networking with real-time spatial audio and an ML-based recommendation engine are areas of the platform we’re currently developing, with much more to come. 

We’re a team of nearly 100 highly dedicated and passionate people who bring a creative and fresh approach to business events and conferences. You’ll be part of a small team of 10 with a core focus on software design and development. We’re a hybrid workplace with a central hub in Montréal and some remote workers across Canada. It’s a fast-moving, dynamic, fun and innovative work environment.

We’re looking for a solutions-focused self-starter with a learner’s mindset and experience building modern full-stack software apps to join us.  

As part of our team, the stack you’ll be able to touch includes ReactJS, React Native, Redux, Node + npm, Symfony, Firebase, Webpack, Docker Swarm, and GCP. You don’t need to know them all to qualify; you’ll have ample opportunity to learn on the job. 

The Position

Our Fullstack Platform Developers work closely with our Platform Architect (Sean), Product Manager (Max), Lead UX Designer (Perrine) and other team members. You will collaborate to design, build, test, document, maintain, and operate our platform’s backend, user-facing UI, and APIs. You are hands-on in the code, learning new techniques, and helping your team improve its skills with code quality, platform reliability, and scalability. You want to be guided by modern DevOps and QA automation testing practices in your work.

Your 3 Must-Haves  

• 3+ years working as a professional developer shipping software using full-stack programming in JavaScript, PHP and current MVC frameworks (i.e. Symfony, Laravel, Yii2)
• On a path to achieving React-mastery, having built apps with ReactJS in production environments 
• In-depth knowledge and practical use of relational databases (MySQL)

• Integrated with REST and service-oriented architectures
• Worked with deployment and build solutions (i.e. Jenkins, Google CI)
• Deployed and managed software on cloud computing platforms (i.e. GCP, AWS)
• Fluency working in a Linux environment
• Helped other developers sharpen their technical skills through mentorship, peer support, talks or content creation
