Position Summary

Left Field Labs is seeking a talented Mid-Level Front-End Developer to join our events platform team. You will work alongside a group of dedicated and multi-disciplined technologists and designers to bring high-quality, performant, and secure software to market. We count on our developers to write elegant and well-documented code, with a strict eye towards the separation of concerns and maintainability. Our developers are creatives; we expect an eye for design, collaboration on interactions, and understanding of overall user experience when building software.

As a Front-End Developer, you will be building the front-end applications for our events platform which are used every day by event administrators and guests alike. Your responsibilities will include implementing components per specs, wiring UI to a redux store, writing tests for all components added to the codebase, code reviewing your peers’ code, and contributing to technical discussions that determine the direction of the codebase.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Expert proficiency in creating pixel perfect responsive front-ends, using CSS tools like flexbox or grid.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.
  • Experience with React, Angular, or LitElement.
  • Experience with Redux or Mobx.
  • Solid understanding of client-side scripting and object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors like SASS.
  • Experience with Node and package managers (Yarn, NPM).
  • Experience with module bundlers (i.e. Webpack, Parcel, Gulp).
  • Experience collaborating with Git.
  • Proficient in client-side JavaScript debugging (i.e. Chrome Dev Tools, Charles Proxy, Postman, etc).
  • Mac/Unix savvy - Capable of CLI manipulation of Mac/Unix systems.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Experience writing front-end tests using frameworks like Jasmine, Jest, etc.
  • Experience with CI pipelines, including test suites and automated deployments.
  • Experience with additional JavaScript frameworks, such as PIXI.js, Three.js, and Web Audio.
  • Experience with UI design for web-driven or other applications.
  • Experience with CSS animations.
  • Experience in remote server sessions and management.

Ultra nice to have:

  • Experience building progressive web applications, and in particular dealing with service workers.
  • Experience with TinyMCE editor.
  • Experience with Google Closure compiler.
  • Experience developing in a back-end language.
