Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Front-End Engineer who is responsible for creating compelling experiences for developers and operators alike. As such, you will be responsible for usability considerations as well as implementation of modern Web experiences available through our Console and Applications. The experiences you build will be relied upon by Twilio’s largest customers daily, and you will continually expand and refine the experience to meet customers changing needs.

Who?

Twilio is looking for an engineer who lives the Twilio Magic and has significant experience with modern Web technologies including React and Node.js as well as REST API design and services development on at least one of the following stacks - Node.js, PHP or Python.

  • You have experience with large systems and complex code bases as well as source code control systems such as Github.
  • Exposure to instrumentation to track user behavior as well as produce unit and automated tests using tools such as jest, cypress.
  • You have experience building and supporting mission critical, performant user-facing systems
  • You have strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills.
  • You are curious, collaborative, humble and are a Doer.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 3-4 years of experience with software development lifecycle and processes
  • Technically savvy and experience with the cloud, APIs, communications, enterprise software, and mobility is a plus.

What?

As a Software Engineer, you will live the Twilio Magic values:

  • WRITE IT DOWN: Contribute to the R&D roadmap for the Voice & Video Customer experience team, including continuous evaluation of industry standards, techniques, tools and trends and take the time to express yourself in prose for yourself and better collaboration with teams. Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage, working in a professional software engineering environment (with source control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, continuous deployment).
  • DRAW THE OWL: Lead new projects from concept through launch. Collaborate with Product Managers and Design team to help with usability workshops to refine workflows, get consensus, and progress to implementation. Within the first 6 months of work, you will help create web experiences for customers to discover, purchase and manage the right connectivity for their use case. Ensure Twilio develops and maintains an industry competitive advantage.
  • BE AN OWNER & BE BOLD: At Twilio, product roadmaps are a team sport so you will work directly with Product and Engineering Management to define, architect, and build experiences. Engineers own production services end-to-end, so you will be deploying multiple times a week as part of an Agile process.
  • EMPOWER OTHERS: Interact extensively across all functional teams within Twilio. Influence cross team initiatives and mentor junior engineers. Raise the bar on team performance.
  • NO SHENANIGANS: Ensure the consistent exercise of appropriate judgment and discretion in evaluating opportunities, conducting due diligence, and maintaining transparency.
