We are looking for a technical guru with advanced expertise and a broad range of concepts, technology and domain knowledge to develop and deliver world class software solutions. As the senior front-end engineer, your passion for technology and dedication to building innovative customer facing products will enable Coop to build a successful and scaled digital business. In this role you will..
- Lead the technical development for large areas of the product, provide guidance in software design and development activities such as planning and code reviews
- Build quality software that conforms to engineering best practices -- writing well-documented and easily readable code with automated tests
- Create custom UI and interactive experiences aligning to design and product requirements
- Champion a focus on software qualities such as testability, security, scalability, operability etc
- Analyse business objectives and identify functional and non-functional requirements
- Design and implement technical solutions
- Provide accurate estimates for the development effort for new features
- Apply and promote industry best patterns and practices
- Contribute to the strategic engineering goals of Coop
You should have..
- 5+ years of hands-on development and delivery experience in in building digital products with a broad mix of languages and technologies
- High proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3
- Familiarity with code versioning tools (Git, Github)
- Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Extensive knowledge of React, state management and working with design systems
- Familiar with React Native or Flutter and the mobile publishing process for both iOS and Android.
- Experience Designing a scalable and maintainable front-end architecture (preferred)
- Experience with creating custom UI components
- Passion for solving customer frictions through simple and effective software
- Strong people skills that contribute to an open and collaborative environment
- Familiarity with preprocessor css tools such as SCSS and methodologies such BEM
- Familiarity with accessibility, semantic HTML and SEO
- Experience working with Agile, Lean and Continuous Delivery approaches, such as Continuous Integration, TDD, Infrastructure as Code etc
