We are looking for a mid-level front end focused full stack web developer to help build the world’s first outbreak detection system for contagious disease.
Kinsa was founded with a mission to stop illness from spreading by knowing where and when it starts. Our mission has never been more important or more relevant than it is right now. We are leading the charge in the fight against COVID-19. Our real-time map of illness has been featured in the New York Times, on Rachel Maddow, CNBC, FOX News, The Economist, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah etc. Turn on the TV, open the paper… We are making headlines bringing our Data to the fight. We’ve done this by successfully transforming the first device you grab when sickness strikes - the thermometer - into a sensor to detect when and where illness is rising, and communicate with those who have just fallen ill.
We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable building eloquent, easy to learn web based user interfaces, developing backend systems to service the UI as well as doing code reviews and mentoring/facilitating other engineers. Working with Interaction designers, data scientists and health experts you will be responsible for implementing web based interfaces including enterprise portals, marketing websites and web based mobile content.
· Optimize client-side code for durability, speed, and scalability
· Code reviews and mentorship of other engineers
· Ensure the technical feasibility of product requirements and interface designs
· Data Visualization experience is a huge plus
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
· 2-4 years of experience in front end web development
· Expertise in writing accessible HTML and modular SCSS
· Experience in Node.JS ( Python is a plus!)
· Experience in D3 or other data visualization tools
· Desire to learn and grow
There are four key characteristics of our team that we hope are traits you have as well:
