Work on a product that helps thousands of people get a better-paying, more technical job. Pathstream Engineering and Design is a place to make a real difference, collaborate with a diverse and supportive team, and grow your skills quickly.

WHAT WE DO

Pathstream teaches adults the skills to get their first $50K/year job. We have real teachers who support classes of students and our online learning platform combines text, video, and interactive hands-on labs. Our courses teach advanced concepts like Unity, Tableau, and Data Science to students who are new to these skills.

THE ROLE

You'll be supported and trained by both senior design and senior engineering talent as you design and implement the pages that are our student's first contact with Pathstream. You'll grow in your UX, UI, and frontend web development skills as you support our students at the very beginning of their journey.

You might learn and work on:

  • Building cutting-edge React apps with an experienced team
  • Launch effective user flows, experiences, and A/B tests from concept/wireframing to design/development, building on a multi-disciplinary set of skills with the support of specialist mentors throughout
  • Ruby on Rails – but only the good parts – and learning from veteran Rails developers
  • Low-stress, collaborative, sustainable incident response

Here’s an example of a page you could be working on adding designs/pages/features to: https://www.pathstream.com/pages/continuing_usd_asana

We believe in working collaboratively, doing work at very high quality, and centering our own professional growth in the work. We hire people who have additive strengths. It's okay to be bad at lots of things as long as somebody else on the team is good at them.

We don't ask algorithm interview questions. We do ask questions that relate to the job.

This is a full-time position which can be remote or based at Pathstream’s headquarters in downtown San Francisco, CA once it is safe to return to in-person work. The team includes people all over the globe – including Palestine and Brazil – so it doesn't matter where you are so long as you can be available for work meetings between  9:30am PST and 1:00pm PST.
