Ancestry is looking for an exceptional, passionate, and highly motivated Software Engineering Front-End Intern to join our Commerce organization. The Commerce organization creates and maintains technology services to process orders, payments and subscriptions for Ancestry users around the world. Commerce services enable virtually all of Ancestry’s annual revenue recognition. As a Software Engineering Front-End Intern, you will work with experienced software developers to make contributions to a world-class enterprise e-commerce platform.
What You'll Do:
- Work with a team of Engineers in an Agile development environment
- Acquire experience in a critical – and extremely marketable – area of software development
- Learn about process and compliance issues related to online processing of orders and payments
- Develop and enhance highly available and reliable front-end software stack using the latest technologies such as ES6, React, Sass, RxJS and Node
- Learn about how real-world, mission critical and customer facing web applications are designed, built, tested, deployed and maintained
- Investigate, design and implement a micro service architecture using AWS cloud technologies and platforms
- Ensure quality by creating comprehensive unit and acceptance tests
Who You Are:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited US educational institution
- Must have a graduation date after April 2022
- Some (0-6 months) experience with Java is preferred
Candidates with some familiarity with the following will be preferred:
- ES6
- React
- Node
- Sass
- RxJS
- REST
- Jenkins
- AWS infrastructure
- SCRUM methodology
