What is the role?
We’re looking for an experienced developer who enjoys building great customer facing solutions and driving for change. You will be our senior developer, working alongside the Head of Product to build features that help our customers sign up faster, and provide new functionality to keep our existing customers engaged. If you like fast pace and a real say in how we improve our technology and product, then this role would be a great fit for you.
Our Technology
We adopt and test new technology regularly, but we currently use:
- Node JS and Mongo DB hosted on AWS
- CSS3/HTML/Javascript with common libraries for our front-end (incl. Wordpress CMS)
- Integrations with other platforms, such as Hubspot and other API data
- Expectation to centrally adopt React which you will lead
Key Responsibilities:
Design
- Design mobile-first technical solutions that help enhance our customer journey. Where there are big decisions to be made, present back to senior leadership to ensure continuity within the team
- Provide input to planned product changes and have your finger on the pulse of what customers expect with common design patterns
- Design new internal technical tools that help our team manage our customers more effectively
Build
- Build technology at fast pace, balancing the trade offs between scalability and go-to-market time
- Ensure that you are developing and improving our automated testing capabilities whilst we build new features/enhancements
- Take ownership and drive change wherever possible
Maintain
- Deal with customer issues as priority, and communicate well with our membership team to ensure a positive experience for our customers
- Keep our technology and platform up to date with the latest library versions and security standards
About you
- 4+ years Agile development experience (incl. front-end and back-end services/databases), with experience of building for mobile users within the browser
- Experience using React and integrating with REST APIs
- Proficiency with source control management systems such as GIT
- Experience with common AWS setup, such as using S3 buckets
- Some experience with DevOps tools e.g Jenkins
- Financial experience preferred but not required
- Demonstrated experience of leading substantial technology builds
