Junior Mobile Developer

+ 1% equity stake

What are we building?

Our vision is to build the most accessible and effective AI speech therapy that has the potential to transform the lives of 10% of the population, who suffer from speech impediments.

Most people with speech impediments have distressing symptoms that deeply affect their social and professional interactions, and there is no viable technological solution to solve this problem. For this reason, we created BeneTalk (www.benetalk.com).

We are focusing on stuttering as our first solution (1% to 3% of the world-wide population).

Benetalk acts as an AI speech therapist. It is attached to the chest, from where we can detect the user’s speaking patterns and provide feedback during everyday activities. Think of ‘fitbit’ for speech.

Respira Ltd is the company behind Benetalk and is lucky to have the support from InnovateUK, Microsoft for Startups, Social Tech Trust, EIT health Headstart Accelerator, KQ Labs accelerator, Microsoft AI for Good Program, the University of Reading, the British Stammering Association and the Stammer Trust.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a bright person to fill our Junior Mobile Developer position and join our small and extremely talented team of engineers and speech therapists.

We have an urgent requirement to fill this position, but we would consider applications for positions available during the year.

Responsibilities:

• Build a new app mobile app using React (our current app is in Xamarin)
• Work in the server-side with node js
• Setting up and maintain the greenfield architecture of a new Azure platform
• Building CI/CD pipelines
• Building infrastructure security and monitoring standards
• Support experimental research studies with BeneTalk and the Universities of Reading
• Bonus 1: Working with DSP
• Bonus 2: Working working with micro-controllers, PCB design, sensors, or BL

Requirements.

• 2 years of experience in mobile development
• 1 year of experience working with node js
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical degree or similar demonstrated experience
• Comfortable using GitHub or similar to support efficient, timely, collaborative development.
