Extend is modernizing the $45 billion-per year extended warranty and protection plan industry using cutting edge technology, and top notch customer service.
Our API-first solution allows any merchant to offer extended warranties and protection plans, both online and offline, while also providing a merchant's end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters.
We are a venture backed startup based in downtown San Francisco that is led by founders who have previously had multiple successful exits. We're simplifying the technology stack for the extended warranty industry, in the same way that Stripe did for online payments and Affirm did for consumer point of sale financing.
What You'll Do:
Our engineers are responsible for building out the Extend Platform and enabling third parties to integrate with our systems.
Building an application that gets used in the real world, and is touched by people every day.
Primarily using Typescript throughout the stack, leveraging serverless AWS lambda on the backend, React on the frontend, and working in our various SDKs that merchants leverage to integrate Extend into their stores.
Working closely with the product and sales teams to ship the product, and you’ll be pushing out code right from the start. You must be passionate about product quality, user experience, and be a strong advocate for the end user.
What We Are Looking For:
4+ years experience as a software developer
Demonstrable track record building high-throughput applications that scale
Ability to own what you are building and see it through from end to end
Experience with Typescript, React, vanilla Javascript and NodeJs
Experience integrating and developing Rest APIs
Ability to perform in a high energy environment with dynamic job responsibilities and priorities
Nice to have:
Experience working on, and an understanding of, both client-side and server-side code
Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB and API Gateway
Experience with distributed computing and microservices
Experience working with Ecommerce platforms like Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce
Experiencing leading teams or projects
