Syncify is a startup building a new social network for experiencing media together.

We’re starting with an app for audio clubs. Our MVP app lets you listen to podcasts and audiobooks with your friends.

Syncify reverses the nature of social media by being social around media instead of creating media about yourself.

Our mission is to become the best way to be social, digitally, by fostering healthy relationships with technology and each other.

Techstars

Syncify is part of the prestigious tech accelerator Techstars (only 0.5% of startups suceed in applying). You will get to join us on the Techstars journey with the lessons and support they provide and learn from their mentors, such as the CTOs of Disney, Oracle, and King (candycrush).

About this role

We are seeking a mid-range or senior developer:

• We are seeeking someone with a few years of commercial programming experience.
• There are no formal education requirements for this role

We build our software in Javascript (React Native and Node), use Postgres hosted on AWS, and use Heroku instances for testing. If your previous experience is with a different tech stack but you'd enjoy learning ours next, then we're still interested in talking to you.

You will lead the technical development of the app and help to run the tech stack of Syncify. You’ll play a pivotal role working alongside the CEO in scaling the company to seed investment stage.

You'll need to communicate and collaborate with people across the whole organisation, to imagine, design, and build new features and new tools swiftly enough to support our members in this fast-moving world of social audio.

• Can cope with context-switching to juggle multiple fast-changing projects and priorities

• Able to communicate effectively and work well with a diverse range of non-technical colleagues

• Experience with React Native or React or another web framework

• Listens to podcasts and audiobooks

Nice-to-have:

• Experience working in a startup or scaleup
