Are you a Senior Front-end Developer looking to gain experience with React Native?

Do you want to learn cutting edge technologies such as GraphQL and Node?

Then keep reading, we have a perfect role for you!

The Role

We are constantly innovating through technology and are currently embarking on rebuilding our entire front-end into React and our mobile apps into React Native.

We are seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to help us continue to drive this, very much involved at an architectural level. You will focus on developing our web front-end into React and will be trained on the rest of our stack, including key technologies such as React Native, NodeJS and GraphQL.

Your day to day will involve working through user stories, coding in React with Redux/Apollo or React Native. Your work will also be unit tested so expect to design and implement testing for every ticket or user story you work on. You will mentor, pair, review and be heavily involved in the full range of Agile ceremonies throughout our two-week sprint cycles.

CI is at the heart of everything we do, you’ll deploy to AWS using Ansible and Jenkins, Gulp is our webpack build tool.

What we need
To be successful as a Senior Front-end Developer with us, you must have used React and Redux in a commercial environment – working on large scale, complex web applications, where optimal performance was essential.

That experience will have led to a firm understanding of complex systems and how to manage a platform with multiple moving parts, such as APIs and service interactions with both one-to-one and one-to-many relationships. You should be able to discuss the architecture you worked on and what challenges you faced.

You will be passionate about testing and confidently unit test your own code. We’re big believers in Agile and so you’ll be happy embracing this approach.

What you’ll gain

You will be joining the team at a key time as we reshape critical elements of the platform. You’ll be able to drive architectural and design decisions, giving you real input into what MADE.com looks like and how it operates.

You will get an opportunity to diversify your skillset, adding React Native, Node and GraphQL to your repertoire. With our continued expansion there will be ample opportunity to move into a leadership role if desired.

We encourage all our teams to continue to learn and as such we give every developer in the business an afternoon every second Friday to work on their own personal projects, often these spanning into production. We’re aiming to relaunch our hackathons again in the near future so watch this space!
