Mid Level Frontend Developer

We're looking for an enthusiastic Javascript developer with some ruby experience, to help our team keep building Picfair’s platform.

Picfair is a simple and beautiful one-stop-shop for photographers to build a website, upload their portfolio and start selling their images as digital downloads and printed products. Our photographers are the heart of Picfair, and our support service is core to their experience of the site. 

We are growing rapidly, and currently have over 250,000 photographers across the globe, from a huge range of backgrounds and experience levels. We’re looking for someone to help us expand the functionality of our platform.

In this role you will lead the way in introducing Javascript frontend framework to work alongside Picfair’s existing Ruby on Rails stack. You will need to have a good understanding of how to write clean maintainable code, with appropriate tests. While your focus will be on the frontend, you will eventually be comfortable working on other parts of our stack.  


  • 2 year commercial experience in React / Vue.js / Stimulus or similar frameworks
  • 2 years experience in Javascript development & testing
  • Experienced in interfacing with API backend

Other Useful Experience

  • Some knowledge of Ruby & Ruby on Rails
  • Postgresql
  • Elasticsearch
  • Heroku  / AWS
  • Stripe

You should apply if you:

  • Are able to travel to London for meetings a few times a month
  • Have a graduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Have 2 years commercial experience working with one or more Javascript Frontend Frameworks (React, Vue.js, Stimulus, etc)

Salary: £45-£50K dependent on experience
