We are looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join our amazing Permitting, Licensing and Code Enforcement development team that is based out of Boston, MA and rapidly expanding globally. This full stack team is responsible for building, delivering and operating the OpenGov Citizen Services Suite.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer at OpenGov, you'll build best-in-class SaaS solutions that enable efficiency, transparency, and accountability within government agencies. You'll be a key member of our engineering team, delivering new features and improvements in a fast-paced, agile environment using modern technologies, including EmberJS, React, Redux, and TypeScript, with occasional service development in Node.js.
What you'll make happen:
•Ship critical features for our Permitting, Licensing and Code Enforcement product line
•Use and contribute to our standards and component library and design system
•Reduce the maintenance costs of core services
•Collaborate with stakeholders across Design, Product Management, and Engineering
•Improve performance of existing system
•Participate in an on-call rotation to help resolve issues and improve monitoring and alerting
Responsibilities:
•Delighting customers with usable, high-quality, innovative products
•Produce reusable and readable code and libraries
•Develop new features and improve existing codeImprove the usability of our employee and citizen facing applications
•Write unit and integration tests to improve and maintain high code coverage
•Work with local and remote engineers on a regionally distributed team
•Help deploy and operate the software owned by the team
Requirements:
•5+ years professional experience in front end engineering roles
•3+ years professional experience using Git or another popular CVS
•2+ years professional experience using Linux CLI
•2+ years professional experience with EmberJS or other contemporary frameworks
•Strong understanding of functional programming fundamentals
•Experience with GitHub, Gitflow, collaboration, development, profiling & testing tools
•BA/BS in a computer-science or related discipline
Bonus:
•Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
•Experience using Javascript data visualization libraries
•Functional programming experience
•Professional experience with Node.js services
•Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD practices
•Experience with shipping software on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Infrastructure
