Frontend Engineer

8eo, Inc.’s mission is to make browser-based voice & video communication simple for developers and platforms everywhere to embed, customize, and rebrand. Our core product is the Horn conferencing platform, which was built to let our customers offer full-featured web conferencing from their existing customer sites and applications.

We are looking to add an experienced front-end engineer to our development team. The person who fills this position will work with our globally distributed team to help drive Horn’s continued feature evolution and to build out new frontend experiences for custom verticals.

If you’re a fit for this position, you likely have at least 3-5 years of experience building web-based products on a small team, and strong written and spoken English. More specific technical expectations are below.

This position - like the rest of our company - is remote. We support a flexible work schedule and understand that you have a non-work life, but do expect that most of your working time will align with the European business day. 

Essential tech skills

• React (with Redux and React Hooks)
• TypeScript
• Knowledge of Sass preprocessor 
• Familiarity with common js testing tools (e.g. Jest/Mocha/Jasmine)

Nice to have:

• Webpack 
• Automated tests solutions - Selenium/Nightwatch/Cucumber
• General knowledge of WebRTC mechanics and VoIP solutions
• CSS BEM Methodology
• Familiarity with Unix like Operating Systems (Linux, Mac) - our dev team and deployment heavily rely on this.
