As a Software Engineer, you will be joining the Listings Team inside the Product Development division. The team is responsible for many landlord facing features, enabling  them to become successful on our platform, and is in continuous pursuit of the best experience for authoring and managing listings.

The team also has ownership of the tenant facing listing detail page, which is the most visited page of our platform with roughly 1 million visits each month. The objective is to offer the right information to tenants that allows them to get towards a successful booking as soon as possible, which serves landlords down the line as well of course.  

As we have reached the scaleup phase at HousingAnywhere, our rapid growth has brought on new challenges. We are building new exciting features to improve our marketplace platform, and, at the same time, we are focused on the quality and scalability of our development infrastructure.

And our stack?

We use React. Our codebase has been almost entirely migrated to Typescript. While historically we relied on Redux for state management, we are increasingly adopting React Hooks and React Context API. 

We strongly focus on performance and optimization to improve the SEO rank of the product.

We pay great attention to the way we test our code to ensure quality of code, allow refactoring over time, and increase confidence that what we build is right.

Who you are

Experience needed

• You have at least 4 years of experience in frontend development!
• You’re proficient with Javascript!
• You're experienced with React (3+ years). Typescript, Redux, Node.js are strong assets.
• You’re experienced with test automation and you are interested in best practices.
• You are familiar and up to date with browser capabilities,  differences, and limitations.
• You have experience with online marketplaces, service providers and/or API development.

Practicalities

• Full-time position (40 hours a week) w/ schedule flexibility
