Frontend Javascript Developer

We're looking for an enthusiastic Javascript developer with some ruby experience, to help us keep building Picfair’s platform.

 

Picfair is a simple and beautiful one-stop-shop for photographers to build a website, upload their portfolio and start selling their images as digital downloads and printed products. Our photographers are the heart of Picfair, and our support service is core to their experience of the site. 

 

We are growing rapidly, and currently have over 250,000 photographers across the globe, from a huge range of backgrounds and experience levels. We’re looking for someone to help us expand the functionality of our platform.

 

In this role you will help introduce a Javascript frontend framework to Picfair’s existing Ruby on Rails monolith. You will need to have a good understanding of how to write clean maintainable code, with appropriate tests. Your focus will be on the frontend, you will eventually be comfortable working on other parts of our stack.  

 

Skills

• Experienced in React / Vue.js / Stimulus / etc
• Experienced in Javascript development & testing
• Experienced in interfacing with API backend
• Some knowledge of Ruby & Ruby on Rails

 

Other Useful Experience

• Postgresql
• Elasticsearch
• Heroku  / AWS
• Stripe

 

You should apply if you:

• Have the right to work in the UK
• Are able to work remotely for now
• Are able to travel to London for meetings a few times a month
• Have a graduate degree or equivalent experience
• Have 3+ years experience in software development
• Have at least 1 year experience working with one or more Javascript Frontend Frameworks (React, Vue.js, Stimulus, etc)
