Senior Front End Engineer

(Cincinnati, OH) Losant, a fast-growing startup based in downtown Cincinnati, is looking for a Senior Front End Engineer with experience in React.js to lead the ongoing development of our software platform’s user interface. The ideal candidate is passionate about building responsive, web-based applications; loves writing clean, reusable code and future-proof architecture; has an eye for user-centric design; and enjoys mentoring other developers. This is a full-time position based in Cincinnati, OH. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the product owner and lead back-end engineer to define, hone, plan, and execute the Losant platform’s product roadmap
• Architect, implement, and validate new features for the Losant front-end application, including designing and developing new components or improving the current user experience
• Participate in review and QA of other developer’s code and features, as well as help mentor and grow other developers on the team
• Write tests for your code using popular front-end testing frameworks
• Maintain the existing codebase, including DRYing out legacy code, updating third-party dependencies, and increasing the platform’s test coverage

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE

• Minimum of 5 years with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES2015+), including concepts like asynchronous programming, Promises, CommonJS, and ES6
• At least 2 years of experience with a modern single-page application JavaScript framework (React.js and Redux are a major plus)
• Examples of clean, simple, and scalable code (open source contributions are a plus)
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

THINGS WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE

• Experience working in a SOC 2 compliant software development lifecycle
• Experience building a large-scale, user-facing, web-based software platform
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure
• Experience with Node.js
• Experience building UX/UI mockups
