Redefine how accountants and bookkeepers complete work for their clients. This is a special opportunity for a Frontend Developer to step up and the lead the experience development of one of our highest profile pieces of the Next Generation of our practice experience - Practice Document Management.
Documents and client communication (think email in particular) are critical to Accountants and Bookkeepers completing work for their clients. Most workflows begin, end and are supported throughout by documents. Our mission is to make handling documents throughout this processes simple and intuitive.
As the Senior Frontend Developer, you'll not only be establishing the foundations of the core document management product experience, but also leading the #challenge to wire documents into the key workflows Accountants and Bookkeepers use across Xero's various products everyday.
You will work with your cross-functional team to deliver beautiful software that is valuable to our customers. You will offer your ideas and collaborate to provide technical designs you are proud of. We encourage you to show your passion for technology, help and inspire others in Xero and within the community we support.
As a Senior you will also coach the more junior developers in your team, and offer them support and guidance. You are confident leading technical discussions and are inclusive of other’s ideas. You are passionate about your craft and will be an active contributor to Xero’s global front end practice.
What you’ll bring with you
- Awareness (and preferably experience) in these aspects of web development: testing, build tooling, performance, responsive design, security, accessibility, localisation
- Experience building and maintaining complex web applications, preferably in React
- Experience working in an iterative manner with a focus on delivering customer value
- Knowledge of what makes a good API, be it a function, a component, or a web service
- A positive attitude and passion for working with others that contributes to a fun and enjoyable work environment
- An ability to work with uncertainty, particularly in the early stages of a new project
- Pride and ownership in your work
- Experience with document management integrations (such as Office365, Dropbox, OneDrive) considered a great plus
