Front End Developer

Monkii is a respected independent digital agency based in the heart of Melbourne CBD. We are seeking a Mid - Senior Frontend Developer to work on large, interesting web projects and craft delightful experiences for our clients.

You will be working on well organised projects for high profile national and international clients like, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, White Night, Royal Melbourne Show, Melbourne Polytechnic and Zoos Victoria.

NOTE: This role is available to any applicant based in Australia or New Zealand. You can work remotely from you own home, with the possibility of visits to our Melbourne office.

Required experience and skills:

• 4+ years front end development experience
• Solid understanding of React, Vue or equivalent Javascript frameworks
• Experience working with Webpack or other Javascript based build tools
• Strong CSS3 and SCSS knowledge
• Knowledge of BEM / SMACSS or equivalent methodology
• Understanding and experience developing for WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines
• Strong understanding of developing cross browser solutions including IE11+
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to build and foster strong working relationships with colleagues
• Version control using git
• Attention to pixel perfect details

Anything else you can bring to the table is a bonus:

• Practical knowledge of software development/engineering methodology
• Experience with WordPress, Drupal, Laravel or Umbraco
• Experience working collaboratively with backend developers
• Image formats and optimisation for the web (PNG, JPEG, SVG)
• Front end testing methodology
• Knowledge of Object Oriented design patterns
• Command line knowledge
