Senior Software Engineer (Front End - React), Consumer Core

Overview

As a Senior Front End Engineer at Weedmaps, you'll use your extensive knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to implement responsive UI's across for our Listings team. We leverage modern tooling such as React, ES6, and CSS-in-JS to deliver user experiences that work well across all screen sizes. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QE to plan, build, test and deploy new features in an agile environment.

Engineering, Product, and Design work together to build, measure, and learn as partners on this this product development team. Listings is a consumer-focused cross-functional group who's mission is centered around helping consumers make purchasing decisions for cannabis products and businesses across our web and native platforms.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to build new and iterate on existing features
• Regularly participate in code reviews and other team functions
• Provide technical leadership and assist guiding the team's overall technical direction
• Passionate about improving processes and developer productivity
• Offer mentorship and pair with other engineers regularly

• Take pride in raising the bar for engineering excellence across the organization

What you've accomplished:

• Minimum 2 years of development experience at startup / mid-sized companies
• Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and ability to give and receive constructive feedback
• Professional experience with React
• Expertise in building responsive user-interfaces
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and aesthetic sensibilities
• Expert knowledge of modern browser technologies, cross-browser compatibility issues, and client-side performance considerations

Pluses: 

• Experience implementing localization and accessibility standards
• Deep understanding of the GitFlow branching strategy
• Familiarity with server-side frameworks such as Next.js or Ruby on Rails
• Computer science or other engineering background
