Senior JavaScript Engineer (video platform-Jitsi)

Job description
Jitsi is a secure, scalable, and fully open-source video platform that hosts tens of millions of meetings and powers up thousands of conferencing solutions. Join our Meeting team within 8x8 and become part of an innovative community, team, and company.
The Jitsi team at 8x8 is the team behind all the Jitsi open source projects from web and mobile projects like Jitsi Meet to backend like Jitsi Video bridge, Jibri (for video recordings), Jigasi (for dial-in functionalities) or 8x8 Spaces, which is our conference rooms’ solution. You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary and versatile team with tremendous experience in real-time communications software (webRTC). As a video conferencing team we’re proud to be fully distributed and working together from around the world. Engineers in the team are currently spread between San Jose, Austin, New York, London, Amsterdam, and Cluj.
By joining the team you’ll be working on one of the fastest-growing video platforms and contributing to the most innovative open source video conferencing platform in the world. You will be working on services like https://meet.jit.si and https://8x8.vc that are serving millions of users every day. Just some of our latest projects include support for a lobby, end-to-end-encryption, audio transcriptions, meeting rooms, and more.
Responsibilities
· Full stack web application development with a variety of coding languages.
· Implement web or mobile interfaces using React, React Native, Redux, CSS, and JavaScript.
· Work closely with our PM and design teams to define feature specifications and integrations.
· Work closely with operations and infrastructure to build and scale back-end services.
· Join a highly dynamic agile team and become part of a large open-source community.
Minimum qualifications
· 6+ years of programming experience
· 6+ years of relevant experience building large-scale applications or similar experience
Preferred and bonus qualifications
· B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field
· Experience in real-time communications (webRTC)
· Experience contributing to open source projects
