Front-End Web Developer

Techflex is now hiring entry level front-end web developers for permanent full time role. The chosen candidate will be working on development tasks including: internet, intranet, e-commerce and various internal applications that use web-enabled technology. This position is focused on the front-end presentation layer of the website and will require someone excited and passionate about the opportunity to make compelling, beautiful user experiences for customers.

This position is for an on-premise position (Sparta, NJ).

Essential Functions:

• Create compelling website layouts/user interfaces using standard HTML/CSS and JavaScript practices
• Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes using the latest in front-end technologies
• Maintain existing code and work on designing new features to our websites
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
• Troubleshoot UX display and cross-browser compatibility issues
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
• Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
• Collaborate with and synthesize feedback from visual designers, stakeholders and the technology team to match visual design intent

While an entry level job, we expect the chosen candidate to have expressed a desire to learn web development with evidence, such as git examples, school classes and/or published websites.

Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities:

• A passion for web development and the user experience.
• Excellent communication skills; honed interpersonal skills are required!
• Experience in web programming with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
• Experience developing responsive web applications preferably with Bootstrap frameworks
• Intermediate JavaScript skills
• Familiarity with the Search Engine Optimization process and how it affects implementation
• Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
• Bachelor's degree, with a preference in Computer Science or Web Design and Development

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with React or Angular
• Experience with MVC frameworks
• Experience with the JQuery, JSON and/or JavaScript Frameworks
• Experience with CSS pre-processing (SASS, LESS, etc.)
• Experience with multiple JavaScript libraries, such as JQuery, D3
• Understanding of code versioning and Git Source Control.
