Frontend Engineer

We are hiring an engineer with a passion for frontend development to join our Growth team. You will be directly responsible for growing our business and will have a significant impact on the continued success of Gusto. We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with other teams to create an easy and frictionless user experience for our future Gustomers.

We strongly value end-to-end ownership. Gusto’s growth engineers apply an entrepreneurial mindset to their day-to-day, working cross-functionally to master the ins and outs of the business, and using that knowledge to guide their work across a diverse tech stack.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

• Build and maintain product and SEO pages on gusto.com
• Conduct top of funnel experiments on gusto.com
• A/B testing on Gusto’s content blog and all of our paid landing pages
• Own all external facing sites for Gusto
• Help drive the strategy and roadmap for making Gusto’s marketing sites self-serve for the marketing team
• Focus on and improve performance, site speed, technical SEO, mobile friendliness, and tracking for everything we build

Here’s what we're looking for:

• 5+ years of technical experience
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JS
• Experience with frontend frameworks like React
• Experience with web application frameworks like Ruby on Rails
• Experience turning hi-fi mockups into elegantly executed code
• A passion for well-structured, easily maintainable, well-documented code
• A history of strong cross-functional collaboration with marketing and/or other non-technical teams
