Senior Software Engineer, Frontend 

At The Infatuation, we're building the world’s greatest restaurant discovery platform. We reach our audience across web, mobile, social, and text applications. We’re always looking for teammates who will make us smarter, faster, and more valuable to our users.

We recently acquired Zagat and are excited about the opportunity to revamp the user generated platform, combined with The Infatuation, to create the most influential, useful, and authentic restaurant discovery platform in the world. The product and engineering team's goal is to build and launch a new Zagat product in mid-2020. This frontend software engineer will help us get there.

In this role, you will have the opportunity not only to work on Zagat, but on many other products under The Infatuation umbrella. This role will work closely with product and design to help bring to life the Zagat product vision as well as work daily with our backend engineers to help inform API and database decisions. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for modern javascript and frontend frameworks as well as the end user experience.

Sample Projects

  • Collaborating with design to bring an entirely new Zagat product to launch (focus on responsive web to start, then native mobile)
  • Rebuilding our core experience for The Infatuation (ie search, map, discovery) 

Technologies

  • Typescript
  • React
  • Redux
  • SCSS

Qualifications

  • Modern Javascript experience (ES6 and onwards, Babel, etc)
  • Javascript framework experience
  • Strong understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Built at least one project from scratch and deployed to production
  • Experience with more than one programming environment 

Nice to haves

  • React experience
  • Typescript knowledge
  • Experience with frontend performance
  • Interest in the backend (Golang/Python)
  • Experience in an agile environment
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-engineering teammates
