Junior Frontend Developer

We’re looking for a Junior Frontend Developer to work with our Sports Networks, here in Stockholm. If you believe you have what it takes - we’re waiting for your application!

The position

As a Junior Frontend Developer in the Monetization team, you will be focusing on supporting the ad founded business such as Viaplay Server Side Ad Insertion, Viafree and NENT Sports Networks. You will be, among other things, building Backend services as well as Frontend applications to support the lifecycle of the Sports Networks partners.

We thrive in using cutting edge technology, always keeping up to date and constantly challenging the status quo. The Viaplay web app is, in short, a dockerized React app running on AWS. It employs functional, declarative and reactive patterns to render data from our Node.js and Java microservices. We love composability and are slightly addicted to Ramda and Recompose. Also, we build our whole product here in-house. And in this role you would be involved in the whole product development life-cycle. Sounds cool, right?

The challenge ahead

You will be a vital part of a cross-functional team fully responsible for the AdTech solution in Nordic Entertainment Group. The team have apart from the development also Domain Architect and AdTech specialist focused on the ad decisioning and surrounding technologies.

Some of your daily challenges will include:

• Building high performing frontend components in ReactJS with high uptime and availability
• Microservice/Serverless architecture
• Using multiple programming paradigms and languages
• Flexible production environment supported by Docker hosted in AWS
• An agile development process where we promote pair/mob programming

What we are looking for

We believe that you’re currently working as a Web Developer with a focus on Javascript, probably being in the earlier phases of your career. You are passionate about continuous improvement of workflows and quality-oriented practices. Everyday work will include development as well as taking ownership of technical design, complexity assessment, test and deployment. You will develop engineering solutions that are aligned with technical- and product long-term visions. We would also like you to push forward internal development by sharing knowledge and keeping on top of the latest technologies.

Successful candidates also meet the following requirements:

• Degree in computer science, computer engineering or an equivalent level of work experience
• Knowledge and experience in JavaScript
• Experience with React.js
• Experience of Functional Programming concept
• Team player with dedication to unit testing, code review and other quality-oriented practices
• Enthusiasm for Agile software development

Bonus requirements that makes you stand out from the rest:

• Knowledge about Node.js ecosystem and microservices
• Knowledge of the AWS environment and services (S3, SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch)
