Front-end Engineer

We are looking for a great Front-end Engineer to join our Transaction Monitoring and Screening Team.  We would like to hire someone with expertise in web technologies to help us build our SaaS-based anti-money laundering solution to help organizations fight financial crime!

We are building cutting edge solutions that help reveal the truth for a safer world and stop money ending up in the hands of terrorists. You will work to build the UI which allows the users working with our system to see the alerts they receive and work to remediate them.

The role

You will be working on the UI through which our users see the alerts our monitoring rules have generated and through which they review and remediate those alerts.

To do this, you'll need to work out clear and interesting ways of presenting complex data to the decision makers using our software.

You’ll be working closely with the back-end developers within the team and also with our product and UX teams.

 

What does success look like In your first 6 months?

You have delivered new features and improvements on time with outstanding quality.  You’ve been a collaborative and enthusiastic team member, working with people across the team and beyond.

You have gained a deep understanding of the users, business and technology beyond the project. You are always mindful of quality attributes like maintainability, performance, security, scalability, usability and testability. As a result, you have successfully contributed to architecture and UI proposals and decisions.

Your designs and implementation are clean, elegant, and easily understood by other team members. You add complexity where it is needed, but no more than what is required.

You are continuously researching tools, technologies and practices. You are able to distinguish between what is hype and what is valuable, and you have solid arguments in favour of your proposals.

You can guide the team towards the established objectives. Your colleagues have come to value your technical advice, and you are able to identify areas that need improving and drive those improvements.

 

Requirements

We value those who take initiative and pride in their work and contribute to an informal working environment. You will be confident in your ability to deliver on the points covered above, taking into account the following:

  • Extensive experience working with JavaScript including knowledge of one or more front-end frameworks such as Angular or React
  • A sound understanding of JavaScript application best practices.
  • The ability to build a client-side application to enterprise grade
  • Most likely a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or other numerate field - but we will consider applicants with other education backgrounds who have relevant experience.
