Senior JavaScript Engineer

About Us

Born out of frustration with the traditional cash register business, ShopKeep was designed by a retailer with a noble aim: to rescue independent business owners from the nightmare of archaic point of sale systems, and replace them with something beautiful, simple, and affordable. It turned out that by doing this, we were giving our fellow merchants a fighting chance against the big guys.

Today, our mission is simple: empower independent business owners to dream big and to fight smart. We’re doing this through our cloud-based architecture, amazing customer care, and intuitive software that delivers the data small business owners need to run smarter businesses.

At ShopKeep, we’ve been successful because of our awesome team that believes small businesses make up the heart of our communities.

About This Role

ShopKeep is seeking a Senior JavaScript Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Belfast. We’re looking for someone with strong development experience, with passion for emerging technologies and helping others grow, and who might even have spent some time behind a register.

You will be contributing to our BackOffice web application, which enables our merchants to manage their business operations from anywhere. You’ll be using React and Flux architecture, built with a modern JavaScript toolchain, which we deploy multiple times a day. With ShopKeep’s BackOffice, business owners manage everything from inventory management to accessing customized reporting specific to their business, so this is a vital component to the ShopKeep product.

What You Will Do

  • You’ll lead development of new features for our BackOffice web application
  • You’ll lead architecture discussion for new features and make decisions on how they’re developed
