T0DAY is a growing team of engineers, futurists and mathematicians reinventing one the world’s largest industries: retail. Our team includes Google X's former Chief Business Officer, an Ocado co-founder, and people who have created solutions that have changed the e-commerce landscape.
The scale of the opportunity in retail is impressive. While the global retail industry is currently valued at $30 trillion, 92% of sales still remain offline. For grocery, the volume of sales currently made online is just 3%. Our mission is to create e-commerce solutions that enhance people’s lives, improve immediacy and actually care about our planet in the process.
About the mission
T0DAY is creating breakthrough technologies and capabilities that positively impact retailers, their customers and our planet. We’re also in the business of extensive, industry-defining innovation which means there are things we can’t share publicly, but would be happy to share in an interview.
What we can say is that we believe purpose and profitability can exist together. And, at a time when our planet is in danger, solving for sustainability is the retail industry’s greatest opportunity for business growth. There’s something special about knowing your hard work and talents are helping millions of customers enjoy better, more planet-friendly experiences.
About the role
You will be working closely with our UX and Product teams to build our state of the art customer facing web applications. Without a legacy codebase, we will expect you to make rapid progress in building a robust, scalable system from scratch. Since you are joining a startup, you will need to be a self starter and work with the wider team to help deliver our global mission. You will have the opportunity to be one of the key influencers in our direction of travel as we roll out our global solutions.
You are first and foremost a software engineer who likes solving problems. You enjoy working with Product and UX Designers to turn ideas and designs into reality. You are driven by the thought of providing value to the business and to the environment by writing highly performant and efficient web applications. You look to continually improve processes and enjoy debugging issues in code. You understand that innovation is as much about the application of old, established practices as it is about the cutting edge - it’s simply about the right tool for the job.
