React Native Engineer

The Wing is scaling its product and engineering teams as part of our efforts to provide our rapidly growing community of members with the ability to connect with each other anytime, anywhere. The Wing is seeking a mission-driven React Native engineer to join our scaling team. In this role, you will work in a small, autonomous product team to discover, develop, and ship valuable, seamless, and delightful products for our users. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, you will play a critical role in establishing an engineering process that promotes shipping frequently and predictably, while uncovering risk. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and product designers to shape and deliver on the product roadmap
- Assess business and product requirements and propose viable technical solutions
- Write clean, maintainable code and build reusable components that can scale
- Write both unit and integration tests
- Participate in sprint and stand-up process
- Take active role in estimation process
- Participate in pair programming with other engineers and in peer code review process
- Contribute to recruiting efforts, including interviewing and optimizing our hiring process
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant engineering work experience
- Expert knowledge of React Native, including but not limited to: accessibility, network, internationalization, security
- Nice to have: experience with another language or framework, preferably Android/Java
- Proven track record of building and shipping high-quality software to the AppStore and Play Store
- Experience integrating with various APIs and external services
- Experience working in agile product teams
- Excellent communicator; able to convey intricate systems and logic to both technical and non-technical partners
