Total Wine & More is seeking a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to join our in-store mobile engineering team in Boca Raton, FL or Bethesda, MD We are passionate about building scalable, performant mobile applications while continuously developing new features to enrich our end user experience. 

The ideal candidate will be able to leverage in-depth React Native or React experience to build performant, scalable, reusable components. This engineer will work closely with product owners, UX designers, and other engineers to translate designs into actionable technical requirements and ultimately clean, functional code. Curiosity and a customer-focused mindset are encouraged as many features will be piloted in real-world use cases. This engineer will strive for continuous optimization of usability, security, and performance.   

You will: 

  • Collaborate with product owners, engineering peers, and UX designers to deliver high value business and technology initiatives 
  • Contribute to improving existing functionality and enhancing our end-user experience. 
  • Write performant, maintainable, and testable code using prescribed architecture and frameworks 
  • Develop and update the shared component libraries that enable our teams to iterate quickly 
  • Using a mobile-first mentality, translate functional requirements into highly efficient, user-friendly applications 
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, identify, and support resolution of production issues 

You will come with: 

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science, Technology or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 5+ years of experience with React and Mobile development, preferably React Native 
  • 5+ years of production software development using Javascript ES6, HTML 5, CSS 3 
  • 3+ years of experience with a strongly typed language, preferably Go 
  • Solid coding practices including regular code reviews, documentation, and version control. 
  • Passion for keeping up to speed with the latest software tools and methodologies. 
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong?problem-solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communications skills.? 
  • Experience with agile development its tools, such as Jira or Rally 
  • Knowledge on how to write unit test cases, preferably using Jest
